How software engineering is changing with AI
Earlier this week I had two conversations around AI that resonated a lot with me.
The first one, was about code reviews and how things are getting complicated at work, since the speed of coding is getting much higher than the speed humans take to review such code. We were discussing how unsustainable things are getting in the project and what could we do next.
The second one was about the future of software engineering, what should we expect for the upcoming years, and how beginners would be able to "review AI's code" if they don't have enough experience to identify yellow/red flags in the code.
Well. This is a hot topic in the industry right now and a lot of people are talking about it. But, listening to Andrey Breslav this morning showed me that my thoughts might be going in a good direction.
On Getting to know the possibilities (Day 2) I closed my thoughts with the following setence "maybe, I could achieve a better result if I provided the tests and just asked it to implement the solution". Well, it seems that this was not the craziest idea hahahah
The whole interview is worth listening, but the final thoughts on AI made think that the future has some potential to be... intersting.
Enjoy it :)
